Basin Kit

Considering the importance and long term commitment/working in these (benchmark) basins, IWMI launched the Basin Kits (V1.0) for all the 13 IWMI and CPWF basins under IDIS platform in 2006.The main objective of developing the Basin Kits was to provide a basin focused set of spatial layers, data and information products relevant to IWMI and CPWF research in each of their basins. The idea was to provide one strop access and save time of the researchers being spent in gathering baseline layers as they will all be available in the relevant Basin Kit.
In this first release, each Basin Kit consisted of an ArcView 3.2 project that contained 400+ GIS layers all documented through metadata and edited for adequate legend display. These were later on updated to ArcGIS format in 2008.
